RUMOR: Jordy Nelson Will Retire After Another Awful Raiders Loss
Jordy Nelson may be leaving the league as quietly as he entered it.
It has not been the year the veteran wideout hoped it would be when he signed with the Oakland Raiders. He is a forgotten player on a terrible offense, while continuously dealing with injuries. It is all be piling up and snowballing into the reason why the wide receiver may hang up his cleats.
Nelson is expected to announce his retirement today.
Whether it's the quad injury that flared up multiple times on Sunday or his inability to have any impact on the game, it's a sad ending to what was overall an extremely bright career.
We already had an opportunity to get in our feelings when he left the Packers and he hasn't done much in Oakland to really leave his mark. He has just 25 catches for 353 yards despite the large opportunity that is in front of him with Amari Cooper now in Dallas. Nelson's zero catches on one target this past week just show how far he is from his former self.
Overall, we'll have to remember him for his days as a Packer. His Pro Bowl seasons are far behind him, but it's still a sad sight to see the talented wide receiver go.
