Argentina vs Saudi Arabia live updates
“I feel very good physically,” the Paris Saint-Germain forward said ahead of Argentina’s opening match against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
“I believe I’m arriving in really good form, both personally and physically. There’s no problem.”
With regards to his preparation for the winter World Cup, Messi added: “I didn’t do anything special.
“I took care of myself and I worked the same way I have throughout my career knowing that it was a special moment. It’s my last World Cup. My last opportunity to accomplish my dream, the dream that we’re all after.
“We have to keep going for it. I’ve talked to them (my team-mates) many times about wanting more, about dreaming and not settling. You can’t worry about what could happen.
“Take this one and in the end, it’s about what they want. It’s difficult to think about that right now. When I was their age I didn’t do it. They need to enjoy this. The World Cup is special. What will happen may never be repeated.
“You don’t know if you’ll play in another World Cup. Enjoy as much as they can. The fans, everything and then just play the same way we have been.”
