With 68 from 1985 through 1988, Derrick Thomas holds the school record, with Wallace Gilberry second with 60.5 from 2004 through 2007. Anderson already is second on the Crimson Tide’s all-time sacks list with 32.5. Thomas holds the record with 52.

2 Players in Alabama history have more passing yards than QB Bryce Young, who has 7,471. AJ McCarron holds the school record with 9,019 passing yards, with John Parker Wilson second with 7,924. Young passed Tua Tagovailoa on Alabama’s career passing list in last week’s game. In total offense, Young, with 7,605, still trails Tagovailoa for third place by 177 yards. McCarron also holds that record with 8,969 yards of total offense with Wilson second at 8,099.

4 Teams from Alabama are on Austin Peay’s 2022 schedule. The Governors won 28-3 at Alabama A&M on Sept. 17, lost to visiting Jacksonville State 40-16 on Oct. 29 and won at North Alabama 38-35 on Nov. 5.

5 Seasons in the past 38 with at least seven victories for Austin Peay, including the 2022 campaign, when the Governors have beaten Presbyterian, Mississippi Valley State, Alabama A&M, Eastern Kentucky, Murray State, North Alabama and Kennesaw State (while losing to Western Kentucky, Central Arkansas and Jacksonville State). Alabama has warmed up for Auburn with a win annually since a 21-14 setback against Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 17, 2007. That was the final defeat in a five-year losing streak for Alabama in the game preceding the Iron Bowl. In 2008, the Tide played Mississippi State before facing Auburn, and Alabama played Kentucky in 2020 and Arkansas in 2021 in the game preceding the Iron Bowl. But from 2009 through 2019, Alabama’s pre-Auburn opponents were more like this season, when the Tide plays Austin Peay on Saturday. In the game before the Iron Bowl from 2009 through 2019, Alabama defeated Chattanooga and Western Carolina three times apiece and Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Charleston Southern, Mercer and the Citadel once each.

55 Consecutive non-conference regular-season games have been won by Alabama –the longest streak in the nation during the SEC era. The Tide’s most recent loss in a non-conference regular-season game came on Nov. 17, 2007, when Alabama fell to Louisiana-Monroe 21-14.

71 Receiving yards are needed by Austin Peay WR Drae McCray to record the fourth 1,000-yard receiving season in school history. McCray has 64 receptions for 929 yards and nine TDs in 2022.

293 Games have been played by Alabama since it was most recently shut out, a school record and the third-longest scoring streak in SEC history. Alabama’s most recent shutout loss came 9-0 to Auburn on Nov. 18, 2000. Florida has a 433-game scoring streak going, and Georgia has scored in its past 354 games.
