The Baylor Bears are 5-0 against the Kansas Jayhawks since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Bears will face off against Kansas at 7:30 p.m. ET at McLane Stadium. Baylor finished a solid 11-2 in the regular season last season, but they are hoping to make up for a 26-14 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl. Kansas was 3-9 last year and is coming off of a 38-23 defeat against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers two weeks ago.
A pair of last-season defensive stats to keep an eye on: Baylor was seventh best in the nation in sacks, finishing the 2019 season with 46. Less enviably, Kansas was seventh worst when it came to rushing yards allowed per game last year, with the team giving up 225.7 on average. The good news for the Jayhawks, of course, is that these forces working against them might not carry over into the new season.
The Bears are the favorite in this one, with an expected 17.5-point margin of victory. A victory is hardly a sure thing, especially this early in the season, so expect a good game.
