BREAKING: Body found in BTNF, believed to be Gabby Petito

UPDATE: 4:15 p.m.: The FBI has confirmed that the body found in BTNF is consistent with descriptions of Gabby Petito.

“Earlier today human remains were discovered, consistent with the description of Gabrielle (Gabby) Petito,” said FBI Supervisory Special Agent Charles Jones.

“Full forensic identification has not been completed to confirm 100% that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery.”

The cause of death has not been determined at this time.

Jones added that the vicinity around Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area will remain closed as this is an ongoing investigation.

MOOSE, Wyo. — A body has been found in the area where officials have been searching for Gabby Petito.

Teton County Coroner Brent Blue has arrived in the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF), Fox News Digital confirmed.

Fox News Digital also confirmed that about ten minutes after the Blue arrived on the scene, search dogs participating in the search left the search area.

FBI Denver announced that an update in the investigation of Gabby Petito’s disappearance will be delivered at 4 p.m. today.
