July 7, 2020 marks exactly one year since Cameron Boyce’s untimely passing at the age of 20 due to an “ongoing medical condition” — later identified by his mom, Libby Boyce, as epilepsy — and many are taking to social media to remember the star. Since his death in 2019, many have paid tribute to the beloved Disney star in a variety of forms.

From Jessie Zoom cast reunions to permanent tributes in the form of tattoos and even the creation of a new charity to honor Cameron’s life mission against gun violence, Cameron’s fans, friends, and family have kept his memory alive this past year. Disney even dedicated the entire premiere of the highly anticipated Descendants 3 to the late actor.

Just last month, many celebs — including Sofia Carson, Peyton List, and Dove Cameron — took to social media to honor Cameron on what would have been his 21st birthday. And, as bittersweet as it might be, the first anniversary of his death is also a date that did not go unnoticed by his loved ones.

As soon as the clocks started striking midnight around the globe, tributes for Cameron came pouring in on social media. Skai Jackson, Cameron’s costar on Jessie and IRL BFF, was one of the first ones to share words of appreciation for the actor.

Skai took to both Instagram and Twitter to share a throwback video and picture of Cam. “1 year without you Cameron. I miss you so much, I think about you always,” she wrote on one of her posts. “1 year in Heaven... time goes by too fast. Everyone misses you and loves you! I hope you know and see that,” the other one read.

Cameron’s father, Victor Boyce, also took to Instagram to share a simple yet effective tribute to his son. Victor snapped a picture of the two spending some quality time together with friends. “His memory is a blessing,” he captioned the photo alongside a red heart emoji.

Descendants costar Sofia Carson also posted a sweet tribute to Cameron on Instagram. “To our angel, It’s been 365 days of missing you. And every day, we miss you a little more. Not having you, hurts too much. But somehow, you still manage to light up our whole entire world. Our Cam. Our forever boy. Our sunshine wearing shoes. I miss you. So much. I love you. And I will love you. Forever,” Sofia wrote on her post, which featured a B&W editorial image of the actor.

Peyton List also acknowledged the anniversary of Cameron's death by sharing a video tribute posted by The Camron Boyce Foundation to her Instagram Stories. The video features Cameron's parents, Victor and Libby, as well as fellow Disney star Karan Brar. The video not only serves as a tribute to Cam, sharing unseen videos and photos from friends and family, but also as a call to action to raise awareness and funds in the fight against sudden death related to epilepsy.
