Carole Baskin has some news to share with all the "cool cats and kittens."

The founder and CEO of Florida sanctuary Big Cat Rescue received a win Monday. An Oklahoma federal judge has handed over ownership of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, the backdrop for Netflix's incredibly popular docuseries "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness."

The true-crime series, released in March, explores the life of Joe Exotic (born Joseph Schreibvogel), a man with an affinity for big cats, blonde mullets, guns and explosives. "Tiger King" examines Joe's life at the park (referred to as the G.W. Zoo) and his hatred for Baskin. Joe deemed her a threat to his livelihood because of her advocacy of the Big Cat Public Safety Act, which aims to abolish ownership of big cats as pets and the practice of cub petting.

Joe's malice for Baskin turned to an actual punishable offense when he allegedly hired someone to kill her. He allegedly paid zoo handyman Allen Glover $3,000 to kill Baskin. Glover denies he planned to go through with the plan, while Joe claims the money was a donation so he could leave the zoo.

Joe was arrested in 2018 and found guilty of 19 counts, including attempted murder for hire, killing five tigers and the selling of lion and tiger cubs. In January, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Scott L. Palk turned control of the zoo over to Big Cat Rescue Corp. Monday, after earlier awarding Baskin a $1 million civil judgment against Joe for trademark and copyright infringements.

Palk's judgment Monday found that ownership of the zoo was fraudulently transferred to (Joe's) mother in an attempt to avoid paying the judgment, the Associated Press says. The judgment stated that animals must be vacated from the zoo within 120 days.

In a statement from Baskin Tuesday and posted to Big Cat Rescue's website said that if Jeff Lowe, whom Joe gave "ownership" of the zoo in an effort to ward off Baskin's lawsuits, is unable to move and house the animals and there is a need "to place the animals in new homes, Big Cat Rescue and the animal welfare organizations that have previously successfully placed big cats from large facilities in new homes stand ready to assist."

Joe's story has drawn interest from viewers of the docuseries and Hollywood. Nicolas Cage has been tapped to play the former zoo owner in a planned eight-episode scripted series being produced by CBS, inspired by a June 2019 Texas Monthly article by by Leif Reigstad.

Joe's story was also featured in a podcast, titled "Joe Exotic," which has spurred a competing television project that will reportedly star "Saturday Night Live" cast member Kate McKinnon as Baskin.
