STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Colin Jost is in full promotion mode since his autobiography, “A Very Punchable Face,” dropped this week.

The “Saturday Night Live” comedian, head writer and “Weekend Update” co-anchor joined Howard Stern on the air to talk about the life events that have made him the person he is today.

Like the time he pooped himself at a party.

Stern welcomed Jost to his show for the first time Wednesday morning. Among the stories that caught listeners’ attention was one about a house party Jost attended while interning for the Staten Island Advance/SILive.com.

The Grymes Hill native mentions the borough many times throughout his autobiography, but one story involved a party attended by members of the newsroom.

“My brother [Casey Jost] was like, ‘Oh yeah, you went to Harvard? Remember the time you s--- your pants,” Jost joked on Stern.

Jost wrote that this particular party occurred the first summer he was an intern at the paper. The party allegedly went downhill quickly after Jost had four drinks and puked on the lawn of the home.

It wasn’t long before his bowels got the best of him and the comedian said he soiled himself on the same lawn.

“Now, if you’ve ever gotten really sick, or if you’ve ever been me for a full calendar year, you know that when things are coming out of the Holland Tunnel, odds are something’s coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel, too,” Jost wrote in “A Very Punchable Face.” “For clarity, the Lincoln Tunnel is the butt. Joke about Log Cabin Republicans TBD.”

Jost wrote that his initial plan consisted of going to his parents’ house to wash his clothes, shower and get right back to partying.

“My plan wound up working perfectly,” Jost wrote. “EXCEPT that instead of showering and changing my clothes and going back to the party, I took my soiled pants off, put them in my parents’ washing machine, FORGOT TO PRESS START, then fell asleep on their couch for eight hours. I know, I’m pretty good at life.”

The next morning, when Jost’s parents were greeted with an unwelcome surprise in the washing machine, he assured them that he’d “use my reporter income to buy you a new washing machine.” He wrote that his brother took pride in his Jost’s dilemma.

“The part I love about the s----ing story is that your brother takes such glee in it,” Stern said. “He’s so happy that you’re in trouble for s----ing in your mom’s washing machine and f---ing up the whole household.”

If you’re interested in reading about Jost’s poop adventures, “A Very Punchable Face” has a chapter dedicated to it. Flip to page 141 for the chapter titled, “Okay, So Maybe I’ve S--- My Pants a Couple Times.”

Stern, who said he is in the “middle” of Jost’s book, claims it is inspirational and “describes the hard work a person has to do to become funny.”

In the book and on the Stern show, Jost detailed his experience working with actor/comedian Jim Carrey. Carrey also pooped himself on “SNL” during a skit that Jost worked on.

“I can empathize with him,” Jost joked on air.

“A Very Punchable Face,” under Penguin Random House, is available now. Visit PenguinRandomHouse.com for more information. You can also order it here at Amazon.com.

The comedy writer has a lot of material to work into his autobiography.

Before he earned his spot alongside comedian Michael Che on “Weekend Update,” Jost was the head writer of “SNL” and a reporter at the Staten Island Advance/SILive.com. He also wrote and appeared in the movie, “Staten Island Summer,” and he and Che also appeared on WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” in March 2019, where it was announced that they would be special correspondents for WrestleMania 35.

Jost also has a history of giving back to Staten Island organizations like St. George Theatre and the Staten Island Museum.

If that’s not enough to grab readers, his storybook engagement to A-list actress Scarlett Johansson (and her 11-carat engagement ring) should do the trick.
