RICHMOND, Va. -- Dominion Energy says they are working around the clock after Isaias made its way though Virginia Tuesday morning.

Officials say heavy rain and winds brought down trees, power lines and fuse boxes.

More than 300,000 people were affected by power outages, with a majority of the outages in the Hampton Roads area.

As of noon, 12,000 were without power in Central Virginia.

Officials say crews from all over the region have been moved around to help in make sure everyone's power is restored.

“We are planning for this to be a multi-day restoration effort. We ask that our customer's remain patient," said Jeremy Slayton with Dominion Energy. "Our crews are working as quickly as safely as possible to ensure all of our customers get their power back on.”

You can report outages by calling 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357) or by clicking here.

Officials are reminding residents to beware of downed power lines and always assume they are energized and dangerous.
