Down three at the end of last quarter, the Phoenix Suns have now snagged the lead. They are in control with a 61-45 lead over the Los Angeles Lakers. Point guard Chris Paul has led the way so far for Phoenix, as he has posted a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists along with three boards.

The Suns and Los Angeles both experienced trouble in their last games, but one is bound to make up for it today. Either team could still leave here with a redeeming victory, so expect a scrappy second half.

What to Know

The Los Angeles Lakers haven't won a game against the Phoenix Suns since May 27th, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Friday. Los Angeles will take on Phoenix at 10 p.m. ET at Staples Center after having had a few days off. The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two.

The Lakers came up short against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, falling 121-114. Russell Westbrook had a rough night: he picked up four fouls and turned the ball over four times en route to a 4-for-13, 8-point finish.

Meanwhile, the matchup between Phoenix and the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday was not a total blowout, but with Phoenix falling 110-98 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Chris Paul put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

These two teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses this week. The teams are out to make things right after dropping matches they were expected to win, so stay tuned to see which squad bounces back.
