LSU analyst predicts James Franklin will end up as USC coach
The coaching carousel continues to turn here in November as the college football regular season winds down. The focus continues to be on both USC and LSU, the two big jobs that are open right now.
With both teams needing a head coach, they have been connected to the same candidates for weeks, including Baylor’s Dave Aranda, Penn State’s James Franklin, and Cincinnati’s Luke Fickell. But as time goes on, more and more predictions come out.
The latest comes from our friends over at LSUWire, who released their latest power rankings of candidates for the Tigers. The site broke down the top candidates and even noted one that they think ends up at USC.
Here is what they had to say about Franklin and the USC program:
One month ago you couldn’t find a hotter name around Baton Rouge or Los Angeles than James Franklin. Since then the vibe around Franklin has completely changed. Some reports indicate Franklin is completely off the board for LSU, but how much can you really believe when agents are in play.
Franklin’s name has been a hot one for USC and LSU and we have to imagine he’s high on the Trojans’ list. If USC can pull him out of Penn State, it would be a big hire and one that I feel like would get the Trojans back on track.
Yet, getting him out of Happy Valley appears to be a tough task.
