When it rains, it pours (and my eyes are the sky).

Country singer Luke Combs made the dream of an ill young man come true during the Atlanta stop of his The Middle of Somewhere tour on July 30.

On June 11, the James Bess Foundation—which is like the Make-a-Wish Foundation but for adults who are battling terminal illnesses—shared a video of 22-year-old Dalton, a young autistic man with congenital heart disease who is projected to have less than a year left to live.

From a hospital bed, hooked up to oxygen and what looks like an EKG, Dalton introduced himself and said that his dream was to go see Luke Combs in concert with his best friend and her dad. When asked why he wanted them to go, too, Dalton said, “Because they do everything with me.”

At the show, he said he’d also like to get a picture with and an autograph from Combs, and hang out with the star. If he wasn’t able to attend the show, he said he’d instead like to go to Dollywood and have a vacation.

But they needn’t have worried about a second choice; TikTok banded together to capture Combs’ attention, and within just a few days, he commented, “I got you buddy. We’re gonna make this happen.” He followed up in a separate comment to add, “Im gonna give y’all the backstage tour myself, the whole nine yards. I’m gonna pay for that Dollywood trip too bud.”

According to the foundation, Combs and his team “rolled out the red carpet” for Dalton’s big night. True to his word, Combs took time before the show to spend with Dalton, where he led the backstage tour, gifted the group with merchandise, and promised Dalton a signed guitar before sending them off to enjoy his very first concert ever.

The recap video also includes some of their photographs, including one of Combs leaning down to embrace Dalton in his wheelchair and one of Dalton holding Combs’ guitar.

Come October, Dalton and his family will be off to Dollywood for his second dream come true.
