Marvel’s ‘Eternals’ will have two post-credit scenes — and they’re both important
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Eternals” will have two post-credits scenes, and it will be one of the longest Marvel films to date.
“Eternals” director Chloé Zhao told Fandango that the upcoming film is one of the longest Marvel Cinematic Universes to date, too, with a 2.5-hour runtime. And it could have been longer, she said.
• “You know, it’s ten characters, the Celestials and 7,000 years. There’s a lot going on,” she said.
And, of course, “Eternals” will have some post-credits surprises. In fact, the movie will have two post-credits scenes and both will be important for the MCU, Zhao told Fandango.
• “Yes! Don’t just stay for the first one — also stay for the second one, too. They are equally as important in weight, and both have big surprises for you,” she said.
“Eternals” recently received a PG-13 rating from the Motion Picture Association’s classification and rating administration, which is common for Marvel films. However, the project received the rating due to “fantasy violence and action, some language, and brief sexuality.”
• Most PG-13 Marvel films receive the rating due to mature language, violence and darker themes. But, per ScreenRant, this is the first time the MCU is getting a PG-13 rating due to sexual content.
• “While the rating itself comes as no surprise, the note of ‘brief sexuality’ is noteworthy considering the fact that the franchise has largely strayed from overtly sexual scenes following Disney’s acquisition of the studio,” according to ScreenRant.
