After it was reported that the veteran free agent was visiting the Steelers on Monday, the two sides wasted little time in getting a deal done. According to Ian Rapoport, Ingram is signing a one-year deal with the Steelers to help reinforce their pass rush.

Contract details have not been reported just yet, but it will be interesting to see what the numbers shake out to just a year removed from arguably his worst year as a professional.

Ingram will get his revenge game against the Bolts in week 11 of this season when the Steelers visit Los Angeles.

Melvin Ingram is slowly but surely gaining more interest from teams as the offseason gets closer and closer to training camps opening up.

According to a Monday morning report by NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the veteran pass-rusher is being hosted by the Steelers. This will be Ingram’s third reported visit with a team since becoming a free agent in March, joining the interest from both the Chiefs and the Dolphins.

In 2020, Ingram was hampered by multiple lower-body injuries that limited him to just seven starts in his final season with the Bolts. In those seven games, Ingram only managed to record 10 tackles with two pass deflections and an interception. It was the first season of his nine-year career that he failed to record either a sack or a tackle for loss.

With the chances of a return to the Chargers looking fairly nonexistent, the Bolts will look to fourth-year outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu to fill the pass-rushing role opposite Joey Bosa. Free agent signing Kyler Fackrell also fares to play a rotational role, as well.

If Ingram ends up signing with Pittsburgh, the two sides will reunite for a matchup in week 11 of this upcoming season.
