"This was my upset call during my early look-ahead story from a few weeks back and I continue to like the spot the Cardinals are in to begin the season. They have an offense littered with weapons and a quarterback in Kyler Murray that should be able to avoid whatever pressure the Titans are able to apply as they look to improve in that area following a dreadful 2020 season on that side of the ball. Meanwhile, both of Tennessee's top two receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones have been limited throughout the summer due to various injuries. While I expect both to play, I'm not quite sure they'll be 100%, which will hurt Ryan Tannehill's chances of success in the passing game.

"Meanwhile, Tennessee is another team that has historically struggled out of the gate. In its last five Week 1 contests, the Titans are 1-4 ATS and 1-5 ATS in their last six games in September."

CBS Sports NFL writer Tyler Sullivan is calling an upset! Check out the rest of his Week 1 picks, here.

Open: Jaguars -2, O/U 46

Current: Jaguars -3, O/U 45.5

SportsLine's Mike Tierney is all over teasers this season. If you're unfamiliar, a teaser is a play that involves at least two games with more favorable point spreads than are offered with a traditional bet. Our picks will be limited to two-game, six-point teasers, meaning that a half-dozen points will be tacked on in favor of our chosen team in each game.

We can tell you he likes teasing the Texans up to +9. Head on over to SportsLine to see what else he's suggesting.

"Justin Herbert has never played a game in an NFL stadium against an NFL defense with a full crowd cheering against him and being loud and being raucous. That should be a factor for him, Burrow and Tua. Not only that, but you're dealing with a new offense, and a new offensive coordinator and so all that coordination that you were able to do easily in empty stadiums is now suddenly going to be much, much more difficult and I think we could see Herbert struggle a little bit against an elite defense. So give me Washington all day. Love the Football Team here."

That's Will Brinson's take from the Pick Six Podcast, where he, Pete Prisco and R.J. White broke down all the games from a gambling perspective and gave out best bets on Friday -- as they do every week. Give it a listen below and subscribe for great NFL content in your feed daily.

Open: Vikings -3, O/U 47

Current: Vikings -3, O/U 47

"Kirk Cousins has done a very good job this offseason making the Minnesota Vikings unattractive from a season-long betting perspective, but that won't matter in this game. Joe Burrow is back but is he BACK? We haven't seen him confidently working the pocket the way we expect. Ja'Marr Chase's drops are a concern but I think he'll end up being fine. The bigger problem here is Cincy probably can't slow down the Vikings rushing attack. This is a Dalvin Cook smash spot out of the gate against a bad defense with an improved offensive line. I think Minnesota gets the lead and leans into it aggressively. If you disagree, take it up with Vegas: Dalvin's rush prop at Caesar's is 95.5! That's a bit too rich for Week 1 but I would still lean over on it."

CBS Sports' Will Brinson is on the Vikings, and also is offering up a free Dalvin prop as well! Check out all of his Week 1 picks, here.

Open: Panthers -3.5, O/U 43.5

Current: Panthers -4, O/U 45

"Even as this line has fluctuated, I'd still lean toward Carolina as this number should probably sit somewhere around six. The Jets are coming into this game after a 2-14 regular season a year ago and will be sporting a first-year head coach along with a rookie quarterback. Not only that, but New York's pass-catching unit is a little dinged up with Jamison Crowder (COVID) already ruled out and Keelan Cole dealing with a knee injury. Meanwhile, you have a Panthers offense that boasts an extremely motivated Darnold, who'll have weapons like Christian McCaffrey, Robby Anderson, and D.J. Moore at his disposal. Even if you don't want to lay the points, this should be a solid moneyline look at -210."

Open: Falcons -4, O/U 47.5

Current: Falcons -3.5, O/U 48.5

"I am trying to figure out why the Falcons are the favorite, outside of them playing at home. But when you consider how many debacles they have had in front of their own fans, how hospitable their dome has been to opponents and the Falcons' disturbing trend of waiting until November to start playing with a pulse, it's hard to favor them. Is new rookie coach Arthur Smith going to cure all of that in his first game? I strongly favor the Eagles personnel in the trenches on both sides -- offensive and defensive line -- and their multiplicity in the run game should be a problem for a perennially suspect Atlanta front seven. Matt Ryan does not fare well under pressure at this point, and I suspect he is forced to pick up his feet more than he would like Sunday. Both teams have brand new young coaches, but I favor the guy on the road who doesn't feel like he needs to put on a show or unveil all of his offensive tricks and bells and whistles. This would be a moneyline play for me. I like the dog to win."

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora feels like the wrong team is favored in this matchup. Check out his other best Week 1 bets, here.

Open: Bills -5.5, O/U 51

Current: Bills -6.5, O/U 48

"Ben Roethlisberger looked like a shell of himself last season, but I was very impressed with him in his limited action against the Lions in the preseason. All reports out of Pittsburgh have him turning back the clock. Unfortunately, I don't trust his offensive line yet, and I think the offense is going to be a work in progress. The Bills second-teamers nearly relegated the Bears first-teamers last month. Buffalo keeps it rollin'."

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones says momentum can carry into a new season, as he's taking Buffalo on Sunday. Check out his full slate of picks, here.

Open: Colts -2, O/U 52

Current: Seahawks -3, O/U 49

"Carson Wentz is going to play for the Colts, but is that really the smart decision? His recovery timetable was five to 12 weeks, and he just passed five weeks since his surgery. Is he rushing back? Maybe. Either way, I'm not exactly confident Wentz is the long-term answer in Indy. It seems reasonable to fade him in Week 1 -- especially given his opponent. Seattle has won 12 of its past 13 games in the Eastern Time Zone. In those 13 games, Russell Wilson has a 117.9 passer rating, 3,598 passing yards, 26 touchdown passes and five interceptions. I think the Seahawks should be favored by more."

Seattle over Indy was one of my top five picks in Week 1, and as you will see below, it's a popular pick among our experts.

Open: 49ers -7, O/U 47

Current: 49ers -8.5, O/U 46

Despite having a quarterback controversy, the 49ers are going to be one of the most popular survivor pool picks in Week 1. The Lions have a new quarterback in Jared Goff and a new head coach in Dan Campbell. They aren't expected to be one of the better teams in the NFL while the 49ers have postseason dreams after injuries derailed last year's campaign.

SportsLine's model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, and is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six years ago. You can see if the 49ers are SportsLine's top pick for this week, along with the other teams the model believes have the best chance of winning straight up, here.

R.J. White has been SportsLine's No. 1 NFL expert over the last four years, going 354-292-22 against the spread in particular during that stretch. He has also delivered a 57.1% hit rate on his SuperContest picks over the last six seasons.

We can tell you he's backing the Chiefs -6 on Sunday, but he has four more SuperContest picks you need to check out over at SportsLine.

Open: Giants -1, O/U 43

Current: Broncos -3, O/U 41.5

"This is a long trip for the Broncos to open the season, but defense travels well and the Broncos will have a top defense. The difference in this game will be the Denver front against the Giants offensive line. They will make it a tough day for Daniel Jones. Teddy Bridgewater will do enough to win it."

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports is backing the Broncos, as are the rest of our experts. Prisco breaks down every game each week, check out his Week 1 article, here.

Open: Saints -2, O/U 51

Current: Packers -3.5, O/U 49.5

"Rodgers is at his best when he plays with a chip on his shoulder and I'm pretty sure he dumped an entire bag of chips on his shoulder during his spat with the Packers this offseason.

"The one thing throwing a wrench into this game is Jameis Winston. I have no idea if 30-interception Jameis is going to show up this season or if Sean Payton is going to turn him into a powered-up version of Drew Brees, which is completely possible. I mean, Jameis threw for 5,109 yards in 2019 and he did that even though he couldn't even see the field. Jameis finally got LASIK recently and if he outduels Rodgers on Sunday, Winston's LASIK surgeon better get the game ball."

John Breech puts out what is probably the most entertaining weekly picks column CBS Sports has to offer. Check it out, here.

Open: Patriots -2.5, O/U 45.5

Current: Patriots -3, O/U 43.5

"Do you know what I don't make a habit of? I don't make a habit of betting on rookie quarterbacks in their first career start, particularly as a favorite. And that's precisely where we find Mac Jones and the Patriots to start the season. Now, I don't mean this as a knock on Jones. I'm sure he did outplay Cam Newton in camp, but it's important to remember Newton went 13-18 in the last three seasons as a starter with an adjusted yardage per attempt of only 6.7. He's been a shell of his former MVP self, so Jones beating him out doesn't necessarily mean the rookie has been great.

"I think the Patriots will want to rely on the run game to ease the load on Jones in his first start and to mask the fact there aren't many great options for New England in the passing game. That should only help keep things close, and I think the Dolphins are the team with the better overall skill talent. So I like Miami to cover here at a minimum."

Open: Rams -7, O/U 45.5

Current: Rams -7.5, O/U 46.5

Our guy R.J. White ended the 2020 season on an 80-59 run on all NFL picks, returning more than $1,400 during that span. It's no surprise, as White has cashed huge twice in the world's most prestigious football handicapping competition, the Las Vegas SuperContest. White is 35-16-1 (+1706) on his last 52 ATS picks in Rams games, and he has locked in a pick this week.

White is leaning toward the Under in this game, but to see his against-the-spread pick, check it out on SportsLine.

Open: Ravens -5.5, O/U 52

Current: Ravens -4, O/U 50.5

Mike Tierney has gone 187-147 against the spread the past three seasons. Additionally, Tierney is an astounding 19-9 on his last 28 picks involving the Ravens. Anyone who has followed him is way up. Now, Tierney has locked in another confident against-the-spread pick for Ravens vs. Raiders. We can tell you he's leaning under, but he knows a crucial X factor makes one side of the spread a MUST BACK!
