This news comes after he celebrated his birthday on the 31st of July. Fans were convinced that the rapper was turning 27 this year. However, in a tweet, Vert explained he’s still only 26.

Social media has been flooded with videos that claim the rapper would die at 27. One of the reasons for this is that Vert had made a statement in 2016, which had everyone convinced that he would follow those who were a part of the 27 Club.

In the video, Vert says: “At age 27, I will leave this earth.”

Since then, this snippet of his interview has been used in several other videos. At the same time, fans were convinced the rapper was serious when it was revealed he got a diamond implant on his forehead while risking his life.

With all the events aligning, fans thought Vert might have been serious in the interview.

After being quiet for years, Vert finally broke his silence in November 2020, when the video again paved its way back onto social media.

He tweeted: “I let this go for so long I never said I was gonna die. Don’t you know leave this earth is a term for taking DMT. I thought I was gonna really be one of those High ass Ni**s at 27 ……. SAY NO TO DRUGS !!!!!”

At the same time, on July 28, Vert revealed he was turning 26 this year.

The rapper tweeted: “Wait wtf I’m turning 26??? My mom found my birth certificate. 26 and I feel good.”

The 27 Club includes a list of popular artists who have died at the age of 27. The term became famous after Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994, as reported by Rolling Stone. Several fans noted that famous celebrities like Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Brian Jones among others also passed away at 27.

In 2011, this trend caught more attention after Amy Winehouse passed away at the same age. Vert’s name was dragged into the controversy due to his snippet from the interview. However, his latest comments deny his connection to the 27 club.
