Rain, wine tasting and a happy Easter | On Tap

If your plan for the weekend is to do a little wine tasting, Friday night offers multiple options. The Allan Hancock Winery at 800 South College Dr. will offer a chance to taste some of their award-winning, student-made wines. Tasting flights are $5 and complimentary for wine club members.

Presqu'ile Winery in southeast Santa Maria will continue their Happy Hour Music Series this Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; featuring performances from popular local musicians, along with their selection of wine and tasty treat options.

Happy hour at Prequ'ile takes place every Friday rain or shine and seating is first-come, first-served. This Friday's event features music from Jineanne Coderre. See the musical calendar and food options on the Presqu'ile Winery Event Calendar.

Also on Friday night, Old Town Wine & Brew, 165 S. Broadway, will offer live music from Nataly Lola to pair with their beer and wine menu. Follow updates on events, musical performances and special food and drink offerings on their Facebook page.

On Saturday, staring at 11:30 a.m. at the Guadalupe Cultural Center, the community is invited to contribute their voice to a collaborative mini-documentary project at 1065 Guadalupe St. The event will also feature food, entertainment and kids activities. Both Hancock softball and baseball teams have games this weekend, and some day games during the week. Softball is scheduled Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., and baseball is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start on Friday afternoon.

It is a full slate of events at the Santa Maria Public Library this weekend, however "the weekend" at the Library is limited to Saturday this week. The facility is closed Easter Sunday.

The Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum will also be closed on Sunday, however weekly ukulele lessons will continue on Saturday morning. The Santa Maria Civic Theatre and Pacific Conservatory Theatre are off this weekend, and the next few weekends. SMCT will start their next production, a heartwarming musical entitled on May 3; and PCPA will open the curtain to their production of on April 25. The Great American Melodrama began performances of last Friday night, and the world-premiere musical will continue its run in Oceano - through May 11 - with three performances this weekend. With the theater closed on Sunday, there are two Saturday shows and one Friday evening performance.
