Greater Morristown is under a severe thunderstorm watch through 8 pm today, Friday, June 4, 2021.

A flood advisory also is in effect until 6 pm.

The National Weather Service says 60 mph wind gusts, quarter-sized hail are possible, along with “minor damage to vehicles … (and) wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines.”

When severe thunderstorms strike, the weather service advises moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

“Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways,” the forecast advises.
