Sixteen Minutemen Honored By AHCA As All-American Scholars

Sixteen University of Massachusetts hockey student-athletes have been recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) for their work in the classroom in 2020-21, earning the title of Krampade All-American Scholars, the AHCA announced on Monday.Forwardsand, defensemenand, and goaltendersandrepresented the Minutemen on the list of 532 Division I men's hockey student-athletes.Due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.6 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.Trivigno was one of four All-American Scholars that also earned All-America honors for their on-ice performances in 2020-21, one of two First Team All-Americans, joining Minnesota's Jack LaFontaine.Del Gaizo, Lagunov, Mika and Lindberg earned the accolade for a third time in their careers, while Faith, Lebster and Murray picked up their second All-American Scholar recognitions.For continued coverage of Massachusetts hockey, follow the team on Twitter and Instagram (@UMassHockey) and on Facebook at facebook.com/UMassHockey.
