The match against Puerto Rico was rained out while up 6-1 in the 4th inning and deemed not relevant by the tournament. In the Super round the USA then beat Canada (10-1) and finally Venezuela (4-2) to clinch first place by a team that did not see any extraordinary performances from their players, but was the best balanced team present. USA joins Japan, South Korea, Israel and Mexico as the teams that have qualified for this summer’s Olympics.

Dominican Republic and Venezuela get a second chance in two weeks in Puebla, Mexico, where they will meet The Netherlands and Australia and battle for a final ticket.
