Steph's brutal Warriors shot chart demonstrates rare cold streak

After leading the NBA MVP race for much of the early part of the regular season, Steph Curry's shot chart over his last two games shows just how brutal his recent shooting slump has been for the Warriors.

Curry has played just over 68 minutes in the Warriors' last two games, a win over the Miami Heat at Chase Center and a disappointing road loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

Steph has made just one 3-pointer in each of the last two games, something he only had done one other time in his previous 33 appearances.

The Warriors have shown much more of an ability to weather a down shooting night from Curry than they did last season, but Wednesday night's loss in Dallas was the fewest points the team has scored with Steph in the lineup since 2016.

Klay Thompson's return should ease the pressure off Curry, as defenses will be forced to respect another top-of-the-line shooter on the floor.

Curry is not worried about his recent shooting woes and won't overreact to a few rough games in a row.

“It’s just not one of those where you try to overreact,” Curry said. “I’ve set the bar really high, and I want to keep doing that and never let my standard slip. So, when it’s a night like tonight, or like it has been for a while, just stick with the work and the work will show, eventually.”

Slumps happen to the best of players, and Steph also was dealing with a quad contusion he suffered in Wednesday night's game. He was not optimistic about his chances to play the second half of a road back-to-back in New Orleans against the Pelicans on Thursday, and it could be an ideal time to rest the superstar against the No. 14 seed in the Western Conference.
