UFC 293: Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland in progress: Live updates, results, highlights | News US

"The Last Stylebender" looks for another highlight-reel finish.
Israel Adesanya has been as dominant of a fighting champion as the mixed martial arts world has ever seen.
“The Last Stylebender” will look to continue that trend Saturday night (Sunday in Australia), when he defends his middleweight world title against fifth-ranked Sean Strickland to headline UFC 293 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Adesanya has already defended the title against the likes of Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori, Robert Whittaker (twice) and Jared Cannonier, before losing the gold to Alex Pereira only to avenge that loss with an eye-popping second-round KO of the Brazilian in April to regain the championship.
Strickland irked Adesanya well before the buildup to this fight and the champ would like nothing better than to make good on his promise to TikTok dance over the American in the Octagon.
Meanwhile, Strickland enters this bout having bounced back from two losses by defeating Nassourdine Imavov by unanimous decision in January and Abusupiyan Magomedov via second-round TKO in July.
Will Adesanya use his superior fighting skills to deliver another highlight-reel victory? Or will Strickland’s pesky persistence pay dividends in what would be a big upset?
