He is most recognized for his appearances as Adam Rhodes on CBS's Rules of Engagement, Jeff Fordham on ABC's Nashville, and Wes Gardner on Fox's Scream Queens.
He was also on Ellen DeGeneres' ABC sitcom Splitting Up Together as one of the main cast members.

The two talked about growing up with Russell and Hawn as parents, saying that they both enjoyed it.
Oliver said the experience was “incredible.”
“The impression is, of course, we are from famous parents,” he said.
The two also joked about how Oliver is their mother’s favorite child.
“My mom loves me the most,” Oliver said.
“Definitely the favorite,” said Kate. “I don't know how Oliver is still the favorite.”
