WWE’s Ric Flair, ‘The Nature Boy,’ returns to ring one last time, per report
“The Nature Boy” will step into the ring one last time, ESPN - citing sources - reported Monday.
One of the most popular wrestlers ever will perform July 31, per the report, at the Nashville Fairgrounds on an independent card.
“I’m going to walk that aisle one last time to prove once and for all that to be the Man, you’ve got to beat the Man,” Flair said in a statement to ESPN.
At 73, Flair, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and 16-time world champion, has not wrestled since Sept. 12, 2011. His last WWE match was in 2008 at WrestleMania XXIV against Shawn Michaels.
Flair’s opponent for July 31 remains unclear. It’s also unknown whether it will be a singles or tag team match.
His match will be live streamed on FITE, which is the premier global streaming platform for sports and entertainment with more than 1,000 pay-per-view events per year. FITE can be accessed via any of its free apps for iOS and Android phones/tablets, Apple TV, Android TV, ROKU, PS, XBOX, Chromecast, Xfinity, Cox Contour Virgin Media and Amazon Fire, plus over 7,000 Smart TV models including Samsung, LG, Hisense, and Vizio.
Flair has been on the SEC scene over the past few years as his stepchildren have attended Georgia, Florida and Auburn. He has taken to social media for fans’ help on which SEC team to back.
