Biden and Johnson Meet in Cornwall Ahead of G 7 Summit
U.S. President Joe Biden and U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson met in Cornwall on Thursday ahead of the Group of Seven summit. The leaders walked with their wives, Jill and Carrie, down a harbour, before walking into a building and viewing a plaque together. They then sat down in a meeting overseen by journalists. Prior to the meeting Biden had tweeted that he looked forward to meeting with Johnson and "affirming the special relationship" between the U.S. and the U.K. The pair met ahead of the official start to the three-day summit on Friday, where the pandemic, access to vaccines and economic recovery, as well as the climate crisis, are expected to be top of the agenda.
