Bottom Six Minutes: The Canadiens are one win away from the Stanley Cup Final

You win some, you lose some, and often what you deserve has nothing to do with the end result. Two days after winning a game they deserved to lose, the Montreal Canadiens lost a game they deserved to win, and the series with the Vegas Golden Knights drew even at 2-2.

It became a best of 3 series, and the Habs needed a big win on the road to earn an opportunity to win the series at home on Thursday.

They got it, and they’ll get a chance to win the series at home this Thursday on St. Jean Baptiste in front of a pumped up Montreal crowd. Welcome to your Bottom Six Minutes.

Nick Suzuki showed up, as he has done in many of his playoff games during his still young career. His assist on the second goal of the game was sublime, and he managed to add an empty netter to secure the win as well.

It’s not just Nick Suzuki either, as Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Cole Caufield both got in on the scoring as well. These three are the future of the Montreal Canadiens, and the future is apparently right now.

Add in the fact that they have veteran players contributing, and Carey Price playing at his absolute best, there are plenty of reasons to believe that this team can not only book their ticket to the final, but that they have a legitimate chance of winning it all.

Of course, we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but this team is bringing life back to Montreal. To doubt them after everything they’ve been through would be foolish.
