NFL World Reacts To Drew Brees' Regular Season TV Debut
If you thought it was weird seeing Drew Brees as a commentator and not in full pads Thursday night, you weren’t alone.
Brees’ playing days are behind him. He retired from the National Football League at the end of the 2020-21 season and never looked back. The 42-year-old then landed a gig with NBC to help provide analysis and commentary for the network’s Thursday Night Football and Sunday Night Football specials.
We got a glimpse of Brees’ broadcasting abilities during the preseason when he joined Cris Collinsworth and Al Michaels in the booth for the Browns-Falcons preseason game. He received rave reviews from football fans everywhere. He continued his excellence as a desk analyst on Thursday night.
Brees joined Mike Tirico and Tony Dungy on NBC’s Thursday Night Football desk ahead of the Cowboys-Buccaneers showdown. It was a pretty awesome sight.
Drew Brees is a natural. We have a feeling he’s going to be in the broadcasting game for a long time.
Even football fans couldn’t help but take to Twitter to praise the former Saints quarterback.
We wish Drew good luck as he enters a new chapter in his career.
